“Men” group of statues and “Eternal Conduct”
It is of huge importance for “Renaissance” cultural and intellectual foundation to preserve and share Armenia’s greatest heritage not only in Armenia, but also elsewhere. To this aim, the foundation has implemented a number of projects to install statues, such as “Men” (Yerevan) by Davit Minasyan, “Eternal Conduct” (Yerevan) by Davit Yerevantsi and the memorial statue dedicated to Saint Gregory of Narek (Vatican) by the same sculptor.
“Men” group of statues
“Men” statue represents four main characters from the famous Armenian comedy shot in 1972. The characters were played by the most popular and loved actors Mher (Frunze) Mkrtchian, Azat Sherents, Avetik Gevorgyan and Armen Ayvazyan. Preparatory works of the statute started in 2006 and the official opening took place on October 13, 2007.
The purpose of the construction of this monument is the revival and representation of the famous characters in the heart of the city. The statue allows its visitors to reallocate these characters in their minds and imagine them walking in the city. At the same time, it is a very attractive monument for the tourists.
