Armenia TV and the “Renaissance” Foundation proudly unveil their latest TV concert featuring melodies from the esteemed “Armenian National Music Treasury,” performed by the renowned “Akunk.”
The inaugural concert of this unique series, spearheaded by the “Renaissance” Foundation, graced Armenia TV several months ago. Tovmas Poghosyan and the “Sayat-Nova” ensemble delivered captivating renditions of the 10 carefully selected pieces from the “Songs from the National Musical Treasury” project.
In this installment, the “Renaissance” Foundation collaborates with the “Akunk”. Founded in 1976 by ethnographer and folklorist Maro Muradyan, the ensemble continues to showcase the musical heritage of generations displaced from Western Armenia in 1915. Their performances feature a rich tapestry of songs, dances, and musical compositions from both Western and Eastern Armenia.
The TV concert will feature over 10 soul-stirring songs from the “Armenian National Music Treasury.” Crafted by Armenia’s finest musicologists, composers, producers, and performers, these compositions encompass Armenian folk, instrumental, and church music, meticulously recorded and re-recorded to preserve their cultural essence.
