The Renaissance Foundation presents the musical film “Vardanank: From Victory to Our Days”, a project that conveys profound ideas about Armenian identity and values, reinterpreting past and future victories through a contemporary lens.

The songs in the film are performed by the Taluys Choir. The commentary is delivered by Tovmas Arakelyan, whose speech is based on the work “The Armenian” by Derenik Demirchyan. The film is directed by Vahe Yan.

Filming took place in the Tavush region, including Goshavank Monastery and the heights of Aghvesasar, landscapes that visually reinforce the spiritual and historical depth of the narrative.

At the heart of the film lies the theme of the Battle of Vardanants, presented not only as a historical event, but as an enduring ideology shaped by contemporary interpretations and timeless archetypes.
Conceived as a historical musical narrative, the film weaves together word and song to express essential reflections on national identity, resilience, and continuity. It revisits Armenia’s current reality through the prism of past sacrifices and future aspirations.
“Vardanank: From Victory to Our Days” will be broadcast on Armenia TV on September 21.
