The Armenianmusic.am website has been completely digitized and made available on the most popular digital music platforms. 530 recordings and 22 albums are now on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, and other platforms. All tracks were digitized through Sony Music, one of the world’s leading premium music publishers.
Publishing is an international protection system for material music rights that makes these recordings available worldwide through all possible digital means. In early 2024, an agreement was signed with the “Renaissance” Foundation, through which the Amara company made samples of this vast musical heritage accessible across the globe. Since 2023, the company has been officially distributing and publishing music in Armenia, serving as the regional representative of Sony Music Publishing.
Performances of Armenian folk, spiritual, and ashugh music can be found on convenient platforms and shared easily. Musicians and specialists can also use these music recordings. All tracks were recorded and filmed under the “Renaissance” Foundation’s Armenian Music project.
For the “Armenian National Music Treasury” project, highly qualified specialists in the field of traditional Armenian music and soloists of Armenian folk songs were selected. The 10-member male choir “Zark” was formed, and vocal as well as instrumental compositions, folk, spiritual, and ashugh, were recorded. Parallel to the recordings, the armenianmusic.am online music portal was created, where all audio recordings were hosted.
The songs are organized using every possible filter: by song type, genre, performer, region, instruments used, and more. The collection includes songs and melodies from the historical regions of both Eastern and Western Armenia. The website is available in four languages: Eastern Armenian, Western Armenian, English, and Russian. It is also accessible as a mobile app for iOS and Android operating systems. On the portal, each song is accompanied by a corresponding thematic illustration.
