“Renaissance” Cultural and Intellectual Foundation purchased William Saroyan’s home in Fresno in 2016 and announced the start of the “Saroyan House” project. The project aims to present the full character of the writer, discovering his unknown sides, and presenting them with non-standard technological solutions.
The house on Griffith Way 2729, where William Saroyan spent the last 17 years of his life, has re-opened as a house-museum on August 31st, 2018, the 110-th anniversary of the writer. The project has created the largest digital archive, collected William Saroyan’s related items, photographs, paintings, graphics, movies and recordings. Recordings from William Saroyan’s musical archive are performed in the halls to ensure the Saroyan environment, and in one of the halls, the writer is present in the form of a holographic image. The house-museum will become a center of Saroyan studies and will have a study room.
