In 2024, the Renaissance Foundation launched a major new project, bringing together the best and most famous Armenian songs of the past hundred years on a single platform. The collection includes film soundtracks, urban romances and dance melodies. As a result, the first sheet-music library of modern Armenian songs has become accessible to musicians and music lovers.
At the initiative of the foundation founded by Artur Janibekyan, famous pop and variety songs from the Soviet and post-Soviet periods are being preserved and passed on to future generations of musicians.
During the first stage of the project, the works of renowned Armenian composers and contemporary authors created between the 1920s and the 2020s were notated and digitized. Among them are compositions by Aram Khachaturian, Edgar Hovhannisyan, Arno Babajanyan, Robert Amirkhanyan, Artur Grigoryan, Hayko Hakobyan, Elvina Makaryan, and other well-known artists.
Part of the sheet music was provided to the foundation by the heirs of the composers or their legal successors. The project fully preserves all copyright protections.
Many popular, urban and lyrical songs, including romances, had survived only through performances and recordings, without written notation. Now the lyrics, melody and harmony of these works have been gathered in one place.
Musicians who wish to perform these famous compositions can purchase and download the original sheet music from the platform.
